Do-it-Yourself or use a professional?
If you are debating whether to do-it-yourself or to use a professional decorator, we pose some questions you should ask before you do-it-yourself.

Time
Are you happy to sacrifice the time doing what you want with the ones you love?

Passion
Do you enjoy decorating as much as we do?

Materials
Will you need to buy consumables (filler, wood-filler, sandpaper, brush-cleaners, frog-tape, stain-block, knotting solution, primer, paint, dust-masks, etc)?

Tools
Will you need to buy new tools such as paint-trays, roller arms, roller heads, paint brushes, sash brushes, Stanley blades, filling knives, paint kettles, filler bucket, dust-sheets?

Expertise
Are you comfortable that you have the knowledge to do the each step in the correct sequence and to resolve the unexpected challenges along the way?

Tenacity
Do you have the patience to push through some of the monotonous tasks, especially the prep?

Energy
Are you ready for the physical demands? Decorating is tough on fingers, knees and your back.

Equipment
Do you have the equipment you need to be able to complete the project?

Cost
Could you be doing something more profitable with your time than doing your own decorating? Are you saving what you think by doing it yourself?
